Solar panel maintenance and servicing
Annual servicing, fault-finding and performance monitoring that keeps domestic and commercial solar PV generating what it was modelled to generate — carried out by our own MCS-certified and NICEIC-standard engineers.

Full system health checks
Every maintenance visit starts with a full inspection: panels checked for cracking, delamination, soiling and hot spots; mounting and roof penetrations checked for movement; DC and AC cabling, isolators, fuses and earthing tested to the same standards we install to. You get a written report showing what passed, what needs watching and anything that should be put right, with any remedial work priced up front.
Inverter servicing and repair
The inverter is the part most likely to fail first and the part that quietly costs you the most when it does. We service inverters and optimisers, check firmware and settings against the original commissioning values, clear fault codes properly rather than resetting them, and clean cooling paths. Where a unit is beyond economic repair we specify and fit a replacement matched to your existing array.
Performance monitoring that catches problems early
We set up or take over remote monitoring so generation is compared against expected output for your roof, not left to chance. Underperformance from a failed string, shading from new tree growth or a partially tripped system shows up in the data long before you notice it on a bill — which is exactly when it is cheapest to fix.
Planned maintenance for commercial arrays
For warehouses, industrial units, offices and dealerships we offer scheduled planned maintenance contracts: inverter servicing, string testing, cleaning where it is warranted, and annual performance reporting you can put in front of a finance team. Visits are planned around your operation so production and trading hours are not disrupted.

Frequently asked questions
- How often should solar panels be serviced?
- Once a year suits most domestic systems, and every six to twelve months for commercial arrays where a drop in output costs real money. An annual visit covers the inverter, DC and AC connections, mounting and monitoring data.
- What does a solar panel maintenance visit include?
- A full system health check: visual panel inspection, string and DC testing, inverter servicing and firmware checks, isolator and connection checks, earthing and RCD testing, plus a review of your generation data against expected output. You get a written report with any remedial work priced.
- Do solar panels need cleaning?
- Rain handles most of it on steeper roofs, but shallow pitches, tree cover, moss, lichen and bird fouling can cost noticeable output. We clean with deionised water and pole-fed systems where an inspection shows soiling is costing you generation.
- My solar output has dropped — can you find out why?
- Yes. Common causes are inverter faults, a failed string, tripped isolators, MCB or fuse failures, shading from new growth and soiling. We fault-find with string testing and inverter diagnostics and quote any repair before carrying it out.
- Can you maintain a system another company installed?
- Yes. We service, repair and take over monitoring for systems installed by anyone, including where the original installer is no longer trading. We just need access and, where you have it, the original commissioning paperwork.
